BMW shows off M Hybrid V8 LMDh Prototype racer with large grille
The LMDh Prototype Programs for a lot of manufacturers is begin to see the light of dayand this time BMW carit’s time for its new reveal hypercar. It will be called BMW USA Hybrid V8 and today marks our first good look at mixture Race car.
“The most important task and biggest challenge facing the design team in the LMDh program design team is that the prototype must be clearly identified as BMW M Motorsport” said Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M. “And I can say this to all fans, just one look is enough to confirm that the BMW M Hybrid V8 is a BMW. . ”
That “a look” is most likely at the front of the new hypercar, because BMW has managed to include a giant kidney grille in the otherwise slim front end. However, there is not only one grille to attach it to the BMW. The designers gave these mirrors the typical M “hook”, a Hofmeister folding window and 50th Anniversary BMW USA logo on the hood.
And then there’s livery. BMW is using unique paint colors for the M Hybrid V8 during testing and it uses images of historic race cars throughout the test. According to BMW, you will be able to see the BMW 3.0 CSL 1976, BMW M1/C 1981, BMW 320i Turbo 1978, BMW GTP 1986, BMW M3 E36 GTS-2, BMW Z4 GTLM and BMW M8 GTE. Of course, this is not the last prize you will see on the track in 24 hours Le Mans. This is meant to camouflage the car’s design during testing, so expect to see the final paint design once the car is finished and ready to go racing.
