The Buffalo Bills set safe start Micah Hyde reserve a season-ending injury on Saturday with a neck injury. Both Bill’s outstanding safes may not be available for Sunday’s struggle with Dolphin.
The injury represented a big blow for the Bills, who started 2-0. The challenge to improve to 3-0 could be much greater if All-Pro Jordan Poyer was also set aside. The safety of Buffalo, who is listed as having problems with a leg injury, is not expected to play against Miami, per ESPN.
Jack Bechta, Hyde’s agent, wrote on Twitter that he hopes Hyde will be healthy to return next season. Hyde also posted a message on his account, thanking fans for the love and support they’ve given him and his family by calling it “really bogus.”
Hyde was knocked out of Week 3. He was sidelined in the second half of Buffalo’s 41-7 victory over Buffalo. Tennessee on the second night.
Coach Sean McDermott said Tuesday that the Bills sent Hyde to the hospital to further evaluate his injury.
Hyde and Poyer have established themselves as one of the NFL’s top safe pairs since they both signed with the Bills in 2017. Both had five interceptions in the lead last season.
Buffalo will be without at least four defensive regulars in the AFC East game against the Dolphins.

Rookie winger Christian Benford and Kaiir Elam are lining up to start against a Tagovailoa-led Dolphins offense led the NFL through two games with a 703 yard pass. Benford and Elam opened the season quickly sharing in the back spot opposite Jackson.
In related moves, the Bills signed defensive contracts with Brandin Bryant and Prince Emili from their practice squad to the active roster. Buffalo also took offensive forward Greg Mancz and defensive back Ja’Marcus Ingram out of its training lineup.
The Bills have two slots on the list to fill with Hyde going to IR and a backup offensive lineman Bobby Hart was suspended for a game by the NFL after a swing hit a Titans player, with the punch hitting a Tennessee coach after Monday’s game.
