Bicycle math: Can you ride a bike after breaking one wheel?


Mathematical truth: two semicircles form a circle. We can apply the same principle in bicyclelike two halves of a wheel make a wheel?

At first glance, the answer to this question seems to be an obvious “No”. But don’t jump to conclusions – no matter how flawed this idea may sound, the following video proves otherwise.

Here, a regular bicycle wheel is split in half, then those two halves are mounted separately instead of a single rear wheel, and the bike turns out to be perfectly removable in the end. Of course, for this modification to work, you need a framesand quite a bit of additional mechanical tinkering:
