Bentley looks to KO Udofia

Denzel Bentley will be aiming for his 14th win in the distance when he takes on Linus Udofia on Friday night.

The 27-year-old Briton’s empty middleweight title fight will be shown live on Channel 5 and a win by Bentley will see him become a two-time champion. In November 2020, he won the Lonsdale belt after Mark Heffron retired in their rematch but then lost his first defense to Felix Cash when he was stopped in the third round.

Ahead of Friday’s skirmish during Indigo at The O2, Bentley said: “He’s a good boxer so I’m not just going out there and expecting a knockdown, I’m going to look for one. Other than that, I’ll just go and enjoy my boxing until I smell blood; Then I’ll take him out”.

After losing to Cash, Bentley returned to their previous winning streak, stopping Sam Evans’ challenge in the third round of their duel.

The South London international believes fighting for the British title is good preparation for potentially bigger championship fights.

“Some people fight their whole career and never even get hit, others ignore it, but I think it was a good experience. It gives you a feeling of a championship war when you want to advance to European and world level. The boys at this level in the country are potential European and World champions but you’re fighting for (the title) the British it’s always going to be a good fight. “Nul.
