Bell & Ross’ Carlos Rosillo and Bruno Belamich teamed up with watch design legend Alain Silberstein to create a trio of watches that combine Silberstein’s colorful shapes with a black ceramic version of the Bell & Ross BR design 03 squares inspired by Belamich’s aviation industry.
United is the fourth offering from the Singapore headquarters Holy Grail Clocktwo watchmakers came up with Bell & Ross black ceramic trio × Alain Silbersteinincludes the date-only model BR 03, dive watch BR 03, and chronograph BR 03.
All three watches use the smaller BR 03 case version, which is more common today. While the original BR 01 was 46mm × 46mm, the most recent BR 03 collection measures 42mm × 42mm, the size of each model in the new Grail Watches collection.
Notably, none of the watches feature the brand logo.
“We decided to just use the ampersand, which is already prominent in our brand name because can you imagine a better symbol for collaboration between equals?” Belamich said.
“With the chronograph, Carlos explained that the seconds hand is by far the largest hand ever fitted to one of their watches and we had to make sure the reset function worked flawlessly at all times. so that it aligns exactly at zero,” adds Silberstein.
“With dive watches, we had to make sure that these oversized hands were as light as possible, so that they didn’t affect the overall accuracy of the movement. And then, to create a two-color ceramic bezel is a big challenge.”
