Becky Lynch on her favorite Royal Rumble memory, the road to WrestleMania, and her dream match with Beth Phoenix

Road to WrestleMania will kick off Saturday, January 29, with the Royal Rumble, and one of the star highlights will no doubt be “Raw” women’s champion, Becky Lynch.

“Big Time Becks” has become one of the biggest stars in pro wrestling over the past few years, and after taking a break from competition to welcome her daughter, Roux, to the world, she It’s back to its peak in 2022.

In an interview give Australian Sports News of WWE, Lynch opened up about her favorite Royal Rumble moments, what fans can expect from her upcoming title fight and a potential dream match with superstar Hall of Fame.

SPORTS NEWS: Favorite Royal Rumble moment of all time?

BECKY LYNCH: That’s a good question, but I don’t think there’s one that I can pinpoint. Royal Rumble has always been the pay-per-view movie I would stay awake to watch, mainly because it’s free on Irish television. Apparently because of the time zone difference it would start at 1am and I stayed up until 4am watching it. I just love it. I like the element of surprise. That’s the best thing about Royal Rumble. Those are the surprises. You don’t know who will be out. You don’t know when they will come out. Great.

Obviously for myself, my favorite Royal Rumble moment will be when I win the Royal Rumble.

SN: What can fans expect from the title match against Doudrop?

BL: So here’s the thing. I’m “The Man” and she’s a fan. We were both teenagers when she started, but I’ve already made a name for myself around the world. Across Europe, across America, Canada, Japan, and with very few models to look at. She looked at Rebecca Knox breaking barriers everywhere, and then I was gone. And so I imagine when I re-emerged at WWE years later to change the landscape of women’s wrestling, she was just beside herself. Next to her.

Now I think she was a bit brave, trying to be tough, trying to hold on to things because she was insecure that she was going against her idol.

SN: Is it your ideal dream partner with Beth Phoenix?

BL: I tweeted about Frickin’ Beth Phoenix trying to get her to fight me for years. She kept saying no, she kept dodging it. I think she’s scared. Yes, I would love to fight Beth Phoenix.

SN: How special is this time of year for WWE?

BL: I mean, it’s like we’re elves in Santa’s workshop getting ready for Christmas. We’re really hyped about it, you know, the sugar commercial, the maple syrup commercial, and I’m getting really excited about fighting. I want to make the best toys for Santa. It’s a terrible analogy, but I’ll agree with it. I’m the Goblin Leader and I want to join the main event WrestleMania.

SN: What are the big records that you still want to break?

BL: That’s one of the difficult ones. . . You know, I don’t know, without forcing myself, if anything else, I really have a dream goal to achieve. Obviously I want the main event WrestleMania Again. Obviously, I want to fight all these people, but I think there’s something of freedom that isn’t bound by “This goal will either make me or break me.” I feel like I’ve accomplished all the things that I wanted to accomplish, but now that I’ve done them and I feel that feeling, I want to stay there and I want to get people there and, yes Be it Big Time Becks, I want the women’s team to continue to grow.

I want the show to be great. I want to have great games. I want better matches than I’ve had. I want better ads than what I already have. I want the stories to be brilliant and impeccable and I just want the business to be great and I want to help make it great.

SN: If you could invite anyone outside of the WWE to join the Royal Rumble, who would it be?

BL: Eddie Vedder, just so I can see him because he’s amazing. An incredible musician. I feel like we’re going to be dolls.
