At $3,500, is this 1994 Ford Escort GT Wagon the cargo van for the Hoonage?
Some sellers try to hide what they’ve done on cars they have for sale. That is definitely not the case today Good price or no dice Custom escorts, as the ad shows the GT wagon doing its job on the track. Let’s see how that tracks against its asking price.
When most people consider the classics – that is, the golden age of Greek and Roman culture – that image is often inaccurate. Based on the movies and dusty ruins that remain to this day, typical images are areas consisting of almost monotonous marble slabs and people wandering the streets wearing nothing but white linen togas cake. Geez, even Sweden isn’t so dull! In fact, both cultures have colorful costumes and, based on archaeological evidence, decorate their buildings and monuments with bold colors. In fact, it’s something we might consider gaudy today.
In more modern times, we’ve applied the classic term to the car age when baroque was the bank and luxury was calculated along the Fibonacci spiral of a flowing fender. So, these era style designed items were desired and cloning was made to recreate them in later eras which we now call Neoclassical. We looked at one of the last Fridays, 1981 Phillips Berlina It was built on the sponsor Corvette C3 chassis and looks like a 1936 Mercedes 540K. The car looks perfect and fully functional, but many of you just can’t wrap your arms around it all. set of neoclassical vibes, and that’s not good for the car’s insignificant $32,995 price tag. In the end, it happens in the short term… or maybe the long term, down 74% No Dice.
No one – and I mean not a soul – would mistake the American Ford Escort for a classic car. Now, to be fair, there are plenty of European Escorts that are legally and properly classified as such. The legacy of the rally has made a name for itself in Escort versions such as the RS2000, Twin Cam and Mexican.
This 1994 Escort comes from the company’s American branch, but it seems to come with its own racing heritage that the seller boldly showcased in its advertising. We’ll have to see if you all feel that the hanger adds to the Escort’s value or detracts from it.
We’ll need to start by pointing out that this is an Escort model that Ford never built. The company offers the wagon in base form and high-end trim, but never like the GT bakes offset badges and double cam assist. Some cheeky soul cannibalized a three-door GT for those parts plus more to create this sizzling freight wagon monster combination.
That just goes to show what ilk’s Lego-like cars are like, right down to the point where the center console pulled from the Mazda Protege has been fitted into the cabin. Thanks to Escort and Protege’s kissing cousin relationship, it simply worked.
All Escort GT hardware is available for the ride. That includes the Mazda-sourced 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, along with all of its intake and exhaust components. The 127hp four-cylinder is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and the car has been imbued with a number of suspension updates to improve handling and tossing.
That seems to have been put to good use as the ad includes an image of the car appearing to be on track, with the numbers on the doors and everything. It’s the kind of proof of concept you rarely see in an ad, and praise goes to the seller for being brave enough to both race the wagon and show it thrown in such a way.
However, it’s not all checkers and laurels with this handy GT. The seller describes the car as a “good running and driving project” and notes some of the problems the car has had. These include power steering not working (although Armstrong’s steering seems to work fine), as well as what has been described as a “small exhaust leak” and problems with the reverse lights that would cause the vehicle to fail. the vehicle failed to perform any safety checks. off the track. There is also a little bit a chunk is removed from the rear bumper, but that only makes the car lighter and therefore probably shouldn’t be taken as a point of blame.
On the plus side, the car comes with a clean title, claims 72,000 miles on the clock and some extras. Those are said to include a set of GT discs and a pair of seats on the MX3 that will come with the car. A variety of other parts also available at an additional request.
We’re not starting an exchange so we’ll stick with the vehicle and whatever comes with it for the seller’s $3,500 asking price. Before we do that, however, we need to get your vote and your comment on whether it’s a deal or not.
What do you think, is this Escort GT worth it? Or, is this too deep to ask so many questions?
You decide!
