Aston Martin confirms new CEO


It is official. Tobias Moers has stepped down after less than two years as Aston Martin CEO, to be replaced by former Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa.

Aston Martin said Mr Moers would step down immediately, but would be involved in the transition to the new leadership.

“First of all, I would like to thank and appreciate all that Tobias has achieved,” Aston Martin Chairman Lawrence Stroll said in a statement.

Mr. Stroll said: “He joins Aston Martin at a pivotal time for the Company and brings significant discipline to its operations.

“The benefits of these actions are clear in improving the Company’s operational performance and in our fantastic new product launches.”

Roberto Fedeli has been appointed technical director of Aston Martin and will begin his term on June 1. He also has expertise in Ferrari, having led the development of the LaFerrari supercar. .

“With the appointment of Roberto, we add another world-class name to our team,” said Mr. Stroll.

“He will help us with our future strategy, with a particular focus on our technological advancements and in-house engineering capabilities as we move towards electrification.”

CAR Magazine reports Mr. Moers is failing due to “strategic differences” with chairman Lawrence Stroll.

Mr Moers is said to want to set up a development facility for Aston Martin in Germany, which is in contrast to Mr Stroll’s plans to invest in a new center in Northern Italy in an attempt to bring a level of sophistication to the world. Ferrari-style economy into the brand.
