Apple launched A couple of unexpected product announcements today. Have two brand new iPad Pro phone models coming next week, both enhanced with Apple’s M2 chip, USB-C port, and support for new Apple Pencil features. The company also has a New Apple TV 4K The model will launch in November.
Apple tends to showcase its products in big events that are announced weeks in advance. But in this case, CEO Tim Cook was simply teasing the news shortly before the official announcement, posting some colorful digital doodles along with the hashtag #TakeNote, seemingly as referring to Pencil’s newly enhanced writing capabilities.
Two new models of iPad Pro functionally the same inside, except that one boasts a 12.9-inch screen and the other an 11-inch screen. Both feature Apple’s new M2 chip. The 11-inch iPad Pro model starts at $799, and the 12.9-inch version starts at $1,099. Both of those prices are for the basic Wi-Fi-only model; $200 more for either 5G cellular connection. New iPad Pro models available for pre order now, and will be out October 26th. The color options are Space Gray and Silver, obviously different shades.
Anyone who pairs the second-generation Apple Pencil with either of these new iPads will notice some new behavior when scribbling on the tablet’s screen. A new hover mode lets iPad detect the stylus when it’s nearly half an inch (12 mm) away from the screen. It’s a mode aimed at digital artists, as it can be used to fine-tune brush control; When Pencil hovers over the top of the screen, iPad displays a dot where the tip will touch down, giving users a better chance of aligning.
Apple has slowly adopted USB-C on its devices, and the new iPad Pro is the latest in a folding display. All current iPad models now use the USB-C connector to charge and attach accessories. The iPhone is the only Lightning cable holder in Apple’s lineup, though that could soon change thanks new regulations in the EU requires all consumer mobile devices sold there to use a USB-C port.
For the new Apple TV, buyers will have two options: a model with Wi-Fi only, and a model with Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port. The Wi-Fi-only version has 64 GB of storage, while the Ethernet model has 128 GB. Both models offer 4K picture and Dolby sound, and if your TV and soundbar don’t support those formats, you’ll get 1080p picture and stereo sound. Both models use Apple’s A15 mobile chip, an older generation than the one found in Apple Latest iPhones.
Both Apple TV models are cheaper than their predecessors. The Wi-Fi model starts at $129 and the Ethernet-enabled model is $149. However, both models of the last iteration of the Apple TV included Ethernet connectivity, and now that feature is being limited to just the more expensive box. The new one Apple TV can be ordered now and will be released on November 4th.
