Hillside Animal Sanctuary and Dog Rescue in the UK issues an appeal Facebook for old bedding to keep rescue dogs warm this winter.
“We usually have a good supply of donated bedding, but only recently have we been using more and our stock has been dwindling.” Written rescue.
They asked locals in the Norfolk area to give blankets and duvets (no feathers) so each dog could snuggle into something soft and cozy while they waited for a permanent home.

The plea for help was answered.
The community donated dozens of blankets and soft bedding to raise money for homeless dogs. There is even a time of “traffic jams” due to the number of people coming to donate money. About 100 people brought blankets to two rescue sites.
Wendy Valentine, founder of the sanctuary and rescue, shared with the local news, how much impact the donated blankets will have on the dogs at the shelter.
“They have their plastic beds… but put (blankets) on and it just makes them cozy and comfortable and warmer,” she said.

Rosie, a lab premium mix, is just one of those shelter dogs to benefit from warm blankets, but she enjoyed spending her golden years in a house. Don’t let her age fool you, the 11-year-old still loves hiking and has lots of energy. Her only requirement is that she be the only pet.
