Amanda Serrano became the undisputed featherweight champion after a unanimous decision win over Erika Cruz on Saturday night at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Serrano (44-2-1, 30 KOs) has won world titles in seven different weight classes, but it has never been undisputed — until Saturday night. The win also offers the chance for a possible rematch for Katie Taylor, who beat Serrano in a very close match last April to defend her undisputed lightweight title. .
Cruz (15-2, 3 KOs) suffered his first loss in nearly seven years.
