Albatross Divorce Rate – Rising With That?

By Rud Istvan,

Those who have been at WUWT for a long time know my bad start here was two years after ClimateGate, after which I was forgotten. My first 2011 post here was motivated by the NRDC’s discovery of intentional misinformation to Congress, based on what later became provable basic science. demonstrated while doing three years of research for my first e-book, Gaia Limits. Is a personal wake-up call.

Since then I have tried different ‘CAGW’ debugging approaches both at WUWT and at Climate etc. to no avail (many math posts here about inherent defects of climate models , such as my first “Trouble with Climate Models.” Shows academic misconduct, as with Marcott’s 2013 Hockey Stick Science paper (CE, and later). published as the essay High Stick Foul) in the Blowing Smoke ebook), after Science editor Marsha McNutt admitted to receiving my written proof but never responded.

So now a decade later, I think a different approach is needed. Logic doesn’t work. Science doesn’t work. Facts can prove not to work. Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals #5 says that Ridicule might work. There are many things to use. Here is a VERY rich example.

Yesterday, BBC August published a article then widely disseminated by MSM, (I came across it on Yahoo News (not): Climate change causes albatross to divorce!!!

As you read the article, it has studied 15,500 pairs of albatrosses that have bred on Falkland Island over the past 15 years. The ‘divorce’ rate increased from 1% to 8%, so disaster followed. Well, maybe not.

Now, it’s true that some birds “mate for life” more often than humans; these include the Canada Goose, the Bald Eagle, and the Seagull. Not BoJo.

It is also true that the main reason for ‘remarrying’ if a ‘spouse’ is lost is due to crossbreeding like the highly hunted Canadian Goose.

Which means it’s also true that the ‘divorce rate’ of the Falkland albatross over the past 15 years according to the new paper is also not significant in terms of population (since ‘divorce’ only means older couples then only mate with others… human nuances).

Meanwhile, despite the fact that the Falkland albatross is believed to have driven the divorce rate over the past 15 years, it’s worth noting that there is no Southern Hemisphere climate change (gull warming stress) throughout the observation period. NOBODY. So are albatrosses just emulating human (BoJo) non-monogamy?
