Advent Calendar RPS 2021, December 6

It’s hard to keep the lid on the door Friday RPS Advent Calendar. There were almost too many jokes, too many masters, too many satires. I tell you enough to give you quiplash.

Paving the way for ‘s comedy action style Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy!

Let’s come: I think it’s fair to say I’m the biggest Marvel fan at RPS. I love reading manga in bed on weekends, and I go to each movie about five times (thanks, Odeon Limitless!). However, the guardians are always the best for me. Their endless tips of wisdom make me really laugh in a way that most things just don’t manage.

In the MCU, Guardians are defined by these jokes. Sure, there are moments of emotional vulnerability, but the two-hour film doesn’t give you the time to dive into these characters as deeply as I’d like. Quill and Gamora are in the spotlight, while the rest are relegated. Thankfully, Eidos Montreal’s nearly 15 hours with the Guardians gave them plenty of time ahead, making for my favorite description of this crew.

There are certainly elements borrowed from the movies. Drax is still a literal alien who can’t pun well, while Rocket can evolve from self-centered to team player. Quick satires and funny jokes still swirl around Milano, but we can also explore the pain and suffering that bonded the Guardians even further, for a deeper understanding of the team. Oh, and you’ll have lengthy arguments with Groot, which is unsurprisingly hilarious and endearing. These opportunities allow Eidos Montreal to expand on each character, while also exploring broader Marvel myths.

And wow, there’s so much to explore. Guardians Of The Galaxy really dives into Marvel treasures. Sure, you’ll see classic Guardians key figures like Knowhere, Thanos, and lots of Nova Legion peeks. But you can also explore other extras, including recent works and famous old characters. You’ll step foot on Lamentis, battle the Dweller In Darkness, and maybe even spot Pip the Troll squirming around in the dark. There are many references throughout Guardians Of The Galaxy waiting to be found.

So for a Marvel fan like me, this is a real treat. Damn, you even get to meet Fin Fang Foom. FOOOOM! However, for those just looking for a fun sci-fi adventure, all of these extras make the universe huge – and hopefully entice you to explore the universe. Marvel in-depth (if you need comics or movies, ask in the comments or on Twitter; hilarious chats are what I do best).

Guardians Of The Galaxy in their golden outfits

However, the guardians don’t just roam and examine old comic book ruins. They kicked arrows and took their ass. You get to fight a bunch of Marvel’s dodgy residents and thugs, with killer moves and pounding tunes that make each battle feel like a vibrant scene straight out of a movie. .

This is powered by the Momentum system, which encourages you to get creative in combat by ranking you up after each match. You raise your Momentum and gain higher ranks by using multiple attacks as the Star-Lord and ordering the other Guardians to do the same. This makes me feel like the director of my own movie’s great moments, lining up my toys in slow motifs and then watching them kick around me as I blast the baddies from the inside. atmosphere.

I’ve wanted to fly around and save the galaxy as Star-Lord for years, and Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy definitely delivers that comic book fantasy. But it also has loads of heart, fun, and action-packed combat that makes this my favorite Guardian experience.
