Adobe nears conclusion of a deal to buy Figma for $20 billion: Report
Adobe is close to completing a deal to acquire Figma, a US-based startup that makes online design collaboration tools. According to reports, the deal could be closed for around $20 billion as Adobe is looking to expand its portfolio of collaboration-focused platforms towards the hybrid work era. The leading software company is increasingly focusing on venturing into the collaboration tools space. Figma has also revealed that Adobe will keep Figma running autonomously. Dylan Field, Figma’s current CEO, will continue to serve in his former position.
In one of the latest acquisitions, Adobe almost close the door plans to buy Figma, a startup that creates online design collaboration tools. According to a recent Reuters report, Figma can buying for about 20 billion dollars. As mentioned earlier, this acquisition aligns with Adobe’s effort to expand its portfolio of collaboration-focused platforms towards the hybrid work era.
Adobe owns the most famous graphics and photo editing applications in the industry such as Photoshop and After Effects. American companies have been increasingly venturing into collaboration tools lately.
Figma’s online collaboration platform for design and brainstorming is currently being used by companies – from Zoom Video Communications to AirBnB and Coinbase.
Dylan Field, the current CEO of Figma, said in a blog post that he will continue to serve in the same location.
