Actor, comedian and director Bob Saget has died at the age of 65.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Florida said deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando on Sunday after an unresponsive man was found in the hotel room.

“The man was identified as Robert Saget and was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.” the sheriff’s office said.

Saget made a prominent appearance on American television screens throughout the 1990s as father Danny Tanner on Happy home and the owner of America’s Funniest Homepage Videos.

He is also the narrator on the show How I meet your Mother from 2005 to 2014 and reprising his role as Danny Tanner on the Netflix reboot Fuller House from 2016 to 2020. And Saget often plays herself or parodies herself in one-off or recurring roles in TV shows and movies.

Saget’s colleagues and friends poured praise on social media.

In his memoir, Saget said jokes helped him cope with tragedy. And he offers up what could be his own farewell in the book’s introduction.

“That’s the point of living a fulfilling life, in the end you’ll learn a few things along the way,” he writes. “I’m not quite there yet, but I’ve had some incredible experiences. I’ve met and worked with some amazing people, I’ve lived, I’ve loved, I’ve cried… and gone through it. All in all, I did it my way.”
