Cricket often sees gruesome catch of fish. One such catch happened during the third quarter-final of the T20 Blast match between Essex and Lancashire in Manchester on Friday. And, it also has a point of reference. Hit the first ball, Essex scored 161/5 in 20 rounds. No 3 Michael Pepper tops them with 28 tackles. He was beaten to Tom Hartley by Phil Salt in the 13th minute. Pepper then took revenge too.
During the chase, Salt arrives to open the scoring for Lancashire. He hit the ball on the 27th when he managed to hit a ball in the deep middle, where Pepper was stationed, off Matt Critchley’s bowling shot. Pepper rushed to keep the ball but he couldn’t keep his balance as he crossed the touchline but before that he successfully passed the ball to teammate Ben Allison. It led to Salt’s passing at the age of 27, in which Pepper played a major role.

Lancashire won the match against seven players, with Steven Croft and Dane Vilas score half a century.
In another quarter-final, Yorkshire beat Surrey with a run in a tit-for-tat encounter that lasted to the final ball.
