Aaron Judge to get renewal offer from New York Yankees, ‘shorthand’ before Opening Day, says GM Brian Cashman

Tampa, Fla. – New York Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge General Manager Brian Cashman said he will soon receive an offer to extend his long-term contract.

“Between now and Opening Day, we’re going to make an offer, and he’s obviously going to get an offer and all the conversions will take place and will settle into a multi-year deal. or it won’t,” Cashman said. “We’re committed. We’ll make the offer and hear what he has to say in return, and then it’ll be done before Opening Day.”

The Yankees opened the season on April 7 at home first Boston Red Sox.

Judge has said he doesn’t want to negotiate a regular-season extension. The midfielder, who turns 30 next month, is eligible to become a free agent after the World Series.

The Yankees and Judge failed to reach an agreement for 2022, which could result in the parties having to arbitrate during the season. He asked for a raise from $10,175,000 to $21 million, and the Yankees offered $17 million.

“Our position has always been that, we only end up in a hearing if we get dragged there,” Cashman said. “We only go when we have to. We are not afraid to go. Our history shows that we stay out of that arena unless we are forced to go there. We will watch things unfold as they are. how.”

Judge hit 0.287 with 39 hosts and 98 RBIs in 148 games last season.

Gardening ability?

Since spring training began, Cashman has contacted the quarterback agent a few times Brett Gardneris a free agent after playing for the Yankees from 2008 to 2021.
