To be fair, I made no secret of my skepticism about eye cream. They are often teary-eyed when you look at the price per milliliter and come with a lot of unwarranted promises of wrinkle reversal and puffiness removal. In fact, until I found out The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution back in early 2019, I basically didn’t use eye cream. This really just changed my mind as it was pleasantly affordable at just £6 and didn’t make any ridiculous claims that it wasn’t distributed after that. However, two years passed quickly and how times have changed. Now I’m over 30 years old, have a 1 year old baby and am facing dark circles and puffiness under the eyes has become a daily challenge. What if an eye cream falls on my desk these days? Trust me – I’m trying it.
Thankfully, since then, I’ve discovered a bunch of great eye creams that minimize dark circles and allow me to have an uninterrupted good night’s sleep. Having said that, while I’m grateful to be able to test some of the best eye creams in the beauty industry as part of my job, I’m still completely unsatisfied with the fact that basically every The eye creams I got were ridiculously expensive. In my opinion, reducing puffiness and lightening dark circles under the eyes shouldn’t cost you more than £100.
