Cheap laptops come in many forms, from budget Chromebooks to cheap, kid-friendly Windows laptops, all for $700 or less. You can Find more of our favorite cheap laptops here.
In ours The Best Guide to Chromebooks, this Asus machine leads the way and it gets even better with this price cut. It’s a nicely balanced laptop that has ample battery life, a beautiful display, and solid performance. The 360 hinge also makes it user-friendly when watching movies and videos.
When it comes cheap laptop, Acer is one of the most prolific brands. The Aspire 5 is an enhanced — but slightly more expensive — version of one of our favorite apps, the Aspire 3. This model offers a great 11th Gen Intel Core i5 and 8 GB of RAM for under $400 la. A 256GB SSD isn’t a huge amount of storage, but it should suffice unless you’re a file host. (If you are, you can always pair it with an external SSD).
Best gaming laptop deals
Gaming laptop generally don’t come cheap, so it’s always good to buy them at a discount. Here are some powerful and valuable machines.
The Nitro 5 lineup is one of our favorite low-cost gaming laptops, and while it’s not the newest model, it’s still one of the lower-cost ways to play games in the US. high fps rate, currently only discounted by nearly $100. Along with a 10th Gen Intel CPU, you get 8 GB of RAM, a 15.6-inch 144 Hz display, and an Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU.
If you’re after a low-end gaming laptop, then one with an Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU is what you want. For under $700, you still get a 144 Hz panel, an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. It’s a combination to meet basic gaming needs, and MSI is a reliable brand that will usually get the job done.
Best laptop deals
You might come here looking for an outright bargain, but these are good deals on some of the more luxurious machines.
This is a huge discount on a machine that just came out, though only Costco subscribers can take advantage of the offer. It’s so new that we haven’t tested the model yet, but its predecessors offered a remarkable combination of a large screen and a feathery weight. The Gram doesn’t use the most luxurious of build materials, but its unique portability for such a sizable device — as well as good specs including a 12th-gen Intel Core i7 — make it very worthy of consideration.
The new Galaxy Book 2 lineup just landed, but previous versions are still great – especially at this discounted new price. The regular Galaxy Book Pro model offers an AMOLED display (beautiful colors and deep blacks), an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, and 8 GB of RAM in a sleek, stylish design.

How to buy a refurbished laptop?
Buying refurbished items is relatively straightforward, with retailers and manufacturers offering restored devices at attractive prices. Retailers like Amazon, Best buy, Neweggand Walmart sell these laptops. Brands like Apple, Delland Lenovo also sell refurbished models in their own stores.
The key is to figure out what “refurbished” means on each of these sites, so you know exactly what you’re getting. First, refurbished usually means a device that has been tested to be in good working order or restored to meet certain standards, along with a new warranty.
For example, here’s an excerpt from Best Buy’s refurbished laptop policy: “A refurbished item has been inspected, repaired, and restored to working condition like new, clean, and included. all parts and accessories. These are usually electronic devices that have been returned for some reason… Because they have been through a careful testing process to make sure they work as good as new, refurbished laptops the best is actually less likely to have a defect or problem than one that comes from the factory… Most refurbished items are covered by the Best Return & Exchange Promise and come with minimal warranties 90 days. “
Policies vary from retailer to retailer, so it’s a good idea to check to see if there’s a thorough testing process and if these devices are refurbished to a “good as new” standard (and if they come with a new warranty). You should also check the refund and return policies in your status or country to see what recourse you may have if you encounter any issues beyond the warranty.
