I won’t lie — on the one hand, I can count on the amount of New Year’s resolutions I’ve put in as I head into the summer. Back in January, I was doing all the typical things like being more active and meditating more, but some of my decisions were a little out of the ordinary — one of them was curating my wardrobe to Only include items that look expensive.
While immediately picking up every designer staple is one way to do it, the effective word here is “look”. Think of it as an optical illusion: the goal is to look classy, on a more affordable budget. And, that’s entirely possible. As I learned as a fashion editor, you just need to know what to look for. Things like thick knits and subdued colors always have a way of looking taller without much effort, as well as subtle details that make them feel special.
