Fisker today revealed a glimpse of a flagship electric sports car project that showcases the company’s performance capabilities. Expected in 2024, the production sports car will follow Fisker’s more affordable Ocean and Pear models.
The car, so far known as Project Ronin (set by the movie with some great car chases), is described as an “all-electric sports Grand Tourer”, with a battery pack built in. integrated into its vehicle structure. The company claims that it is “designing and building Project Ronin to provide the longest range of a production EV with top performance.”
To meet that claim, the sports car will need to overcome incremental improvements that could improve on Lucid’s current 516-mile range for Air Grand Touring. In an Instagram post, Henrik Fisker, founder and CEO of Fisker Inc., targeted a range of more than 550 miles.
2023 Fisker Ocean
That’s not quite far from the long-awaited Tesla Roadster, which is claimed to have a range of 620 miles when it aired in 2017 and is due in 2019. That model is still available push back to 2023 soonest.
Perhaps most notably, Fisker says that Project Ronin is “signaling the return of the Fisker brand to its luxurious design roots.” Fisker was referring to his previous company, Fisker Automotive, and his earned reputation for producing some of the world’s most beloved shapes as a designer — including BMW. Z8, Aston Martin DB9 and various Fisker designs including the Fisker Karma, revived as Karma Revero and live for today as GS-6.

Whether that signals a change in design statement only, or it means in actual pricing, the current version of the Fisker has focused on more affordable vehicles.
It will be the fledgling automaker’s third vehicle, following Fisker Ocean SUV $37,499First deliveries are expected by the end of 2022, and the Fisker Pear, $29,900 Urban EV to be built in Ohio partnership with iPhone manufacturer Foxconn, starting in 2024.
Fisker reports that it has over 40,000 bookings for Ocean, and it says there won’t be a price change on Ocean until 2023.
Fisker plans to prototype the sports car in August 2023, with production scheduled for the second half of 2024.
