My motherNancy, recently texted me that it was time for her to clean out her closet. While she has an array of timeless pieces that will remain staples, she knows there are a few — as she puts it — “meh items” that need to go. Although she has a strong aesthetic eye, she wants to double-check whether items she doesn’t wear a lot should be given away (when she can) or saved.
Given that we’re not together right now, I’ve been texting me things she doesn’t feel with her own personal style. Then I answer with “remove” or “backward”. While she doesn’t necessarily replace the “no” entries with another transition, she is interested in hearing my thoughts on trends to look at along the way.
I thought you might be interested in the aforementioned items, so I’ve rounded up a few pieces that my mom is about to get rid of, along with some intro photos from trendy fashionistas who stand out. Pop on trending pieces that might be worth adding to her wardrobe when she’s Ready. I also included her feedback on each trend. As she noted, she likes the parts mentioned because they can work for anyone of any age (including her at 60). Keep scrolling for some closet cleaning inspiration.
