I ordered a Lyft once, and the driver showed up on a Model 3. I didn’t know how to open the door. I didn’t know right away that you had to push on one side and the other side would open up like a handle. Once inside, I was overwhelmed by the car’s comfort, the panoramic roof is on another level and the large touchscreen that the driver is using to navigate.
The car has futuristic features, like automatic parking and automatic lane changes (part of a $12,000 upgrade to fully autonomous capability). It’s pricey but a solid investment with some interesting perks.
Take the Tesla key card, for example. It’s a sleek black card that fits perfectly in your wallet: No more forgetting keys! If you have more than one Tesla, including different car models, you can use your specific key card to unlock them all. If you lose your key card, you can remove it from the car and order a replacement for $25.
Let’s say you forget to tap your Tesla card to lock it — the car has a pedestrian feature that detects when you’re leaving and locks automatically (see YouTuber POGAuto) prove it here). If you leave the windows open, the car will automatically close them when locked. You can also control the car from the Tesla app, open and close the trunk, flash the lights in case you’re in a dark space and need to locate it, etc. If you’ve ever had that “oh no, I think I left the trunk open”, this is the car for you.
