36 OneWeb satellites launched by ISRO’s NSIL commercial arm from Sriharikota

OneWeb on Sunday announced the successful deployment of 36 satellites launched by ISRO’s NewSpace India commercial arm.

OneWeb on Sunday announced the successful deployment of 36 satellites launched by ISRO’s commercial arm NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.

Bharti Global is the biggest investor in OneWeb, low level The earth Orbit Satellite Communications (LEO).

This latest launch by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and NSIL marks one of the largest commercial orders by India’s leading space organization and the first to use rocket LVM3, OneWeb said in a statement.

OneWeb says it is committed to providing connectivity across the entire length and breadth of India by 2023.

“36 OneWeb satellites were successfully launched by ISRO/NSIL from Sriharikota,” the statement said.

Regarding the successful implementation, OneWeb said that this is the 14th launch and the second this year. This brings OneWeb’s total constellations to 462 satellites, representing more than 70% of the planned 648 Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity globally.

“With just four launches to go, OneWeb is still on track to enable global coverage by 2023, while its connectivity solutions are already present in regions north of 50 degrees latitude.” statement added.

Cooperation with NSIL and ISRO demonstrates OneWeb’s commitment to providing connectivity across the entire length and breadth of India by 2023, it said.

“From Ladakh to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh, OneWeb will deliver secure solutions not only for businesses but also for towns, villages, cities and schools, including in hard-to-reach areas closest in the country.

“OneWeb’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in India is supported by Bharti Global – OneWeb’s largest investor,” the statement said.

The LVM3 launch vehicle, made with complete technology, has had four successful missions in a row, including the critical Chandrayaan-2 mission.

The vehicle has undergone several important tests as part of the human evaluation of the Gaganyaan program. The cryo stage is designed to orient and reorient in an orthogonal direction to meet the customer’s requirement for precise satellite injection and spaced to avoid collision. The vehicle is made in a short period of time on a request basis to meet the user’s time.

Somanath S, Secretary, Space Department and President, ISRO described the event as a “very historic” event for the country and India’s space program.

“This is the first commercial launch of LVM3 with the heaviest payload for LEO… The mission critical to meeting customer expectations is to launch 36 satellites in 9 phases with high precision, Somanath said.

OneWeb Executive Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal said the launch was an important milestone for the company.

“This new phase of our launch program from India brings we one step closer to not only enhancing our global coverage but also bringing connectivity in India and South Asia especially for communities Who Mittal said.

The telecommunication czar says that the dream of having an Indian element in the constellation OneWeb has come true.

Mittal added: “This launch with ISRO and NSIL will open up the space sector in India with potentially billions of dollars flowing into the country.

In the coming months, OneWeb will continue to focus on the launch program and will also work with key distribution partners and customers to deploy connectivity solutions where its services are located.

Neil Masterson, chief executive officer of OneWeb, said: “I am delighted that we are able to continue OneWeb’s launch program….

OneWeb remains “focused on removing barriers to connectivity, ensuring that we deliver to our communities and customers globally,” he added.

Broadband services from space are being seen as the next frontier in India’s burgeoning communications market.

The stage is set for some high voltage action like big names like Jio and OneWeb prepare for part of lucrative satellite platform broadband service market in India. Nelco and Telesat have also completed successful LEO demonstrations in the country for the corporate, telecommunications and government sectors.

The broadband segment from space is also being watched by technology billionaire Elon Musk SpaceX Starlink and Amazon’s Kuiper Project.
