Temperatures on both shores are a mild 60°, but in case there’s any doubt, as soon as a bit of cold hits my skin, I’ll slip into a teddy bear coat. Cotton jackets are soft, cozy, and literally the next best thing to blankets in public, so it’s really not that difficult to own one. Less stuffy than a crisp wool coat and more Polish rather than a bulky puffer top, it’s a great middle ground between the extremes of outerwear. It’s a quintessential winter piece that can be styled with tailored jeans or trousers.
While the best of the bunch (aka Max Mara’s favorite Teddy Bear Icon Jacket) can certainly break into gimmicky territory, there are still plenty of quality options out there that don’t need to be checked.
