If there’s one designer that will forever have a spot at the top of my mood board, it’s Prada. I would let Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons design my entire life if they could — no questions asked. This high-end brand is known for its sophisticated yet edgy aesthetic — think felt pieces, heavy leather, back underwear, etc. Though I still don’t have the money to buy my Prada wardrobe (Someday!), that doesn’t mean I can’t shop the same aesthetic on a budget.
The best part about the Prada’s look is that most of the details are timeless – often decked out in black and white leather and occasionally with splashes of color and sparkle. Recent collections have brought the sartorial focus back to basics like black midi skirts to simple racerback tank tops. I research Prada collections just for fun, so it’s almost second nature to shop for looks. To find items that exude a chic aesthetic but don’t look like dupe or sticky, it can take some time. Luckily, it’s my job to do it, so the job has been done for you.
