When we drive Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 2023, we were impressed by its off-road capabilities. It doesn’t have the strength to match CHEAP Ford F-150 Raptor or TRX RAM, but the 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque from the 6.2-liter V8 is still more than enough for everyday driving. For 2024, Chevrolet decided to add a diesel engine option to the Silverado ZR2.

The Silverado ZR2’s 3.0-liter turbodiesel makes 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, so it won’t compete with the Raptor R or TRX either. Other changes for the 2024 model include a new active exhaust with sport mode for the Silverado that you’ll be able to get with the 6.2-liter V8. And according to Chevrolet, it’s “more muscular” and “tasty,” so it will be interesting to test.
But the really exciting news, the news that we’re sure everyone will be talking about at the bar after work, is the new-named 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine option. From now on, it will be called TurboMax.
Kevin Luchansky, assistant chief engine engineer, said: “The TurboMax is built like a diesel: it’s durable and has the turbocharged performance to win over both diesel and V-engine customers. -8. “The name TurboMax encapsulates modern engineering, manufacturing and control, which closed the door to debates against turbochargers decades ago.”
