Virtual reality is should be the The next big thing came in 2016 when the original Oculus Rift and HTC Vive came out. It is the technology for which the time has finally come. Or we thought. As it turns out, VR is still a bit too expensive and perhaps too alien to take over the gaming world. But now everyone is talking about the reverse, there is a focal point on the VR scene. There are new apps and games, new hardware, and even new use cases.
Our top pick, Mission Meta 2 (née Oculus), is now just as useful as a working device because it is for entertainment. But things are still going a bit like Meta has price increase announcement for Mission 2, an unprecedented move that speaks to its confidence in the platform. Regardless, it’s an exciting time to get into VR.

Wireless Internet or VR connection?
Before we dive in, there’s one question you need to answer: Do you want wireless or tethered headphones? Tethering VR gives you more graphic detail because you’re connected to a PC. The disadvantage is that you, well, connect to PC. There’s no denying that cables are difficult to handle, especially when you can’t see them. You will also probably be walking on them at some point. But if you are looking for absolutely top graphics and you are ready for a Great gaming PC or laptopthen you will want to connect.
For most people, myself included, wireless VR is a much better option. It’s more comfortable, you don’t have to worry about entangling your own cables, and it’s completely portable. You can bring this VR headset to any room in the house without having to carry a PC. Also, in the case of Meta Quest 2, you maybe plug it into your PC if you want more graphics horsepower.
