I tested several other cases. Here are a few more things that I don’t like so much like the ones above. In addition, cases are very personal accessories; you might like the one that i don’t. That’s what this hodgepodge is for.
Gear4 Copenhagen Case for $40: I really really like how this case looks. It has a nice textured back, made with 52% renewable resources and partly made from recycled plastic. It’s slim and has raised lips, but I wish there was a bit of a bumper on the camera module. It feels exposed. You can also get it for S22 Ultra. I love Gear4’s Denali Case same, although the notches on the back can suck up a lot of dust.
OtterBox Commuter Series Antibacterial Box for $40: This dual-layer case features a removable soft inner shell and a hard outer shell to absorb drops and protect your phone. The buttons are sturdy, the charging port is covered and made from 35% recycled material. It is like a slightly lower version of the OtterBox Defender that we recommend above. Definitely go for one of the colorful options. It is also available for S22 Ultra and S22 +.
UAG Civilian Series for $40: UAG sent me a lot of cases of its S22, and most of them were… ugly (sorry). If you are going to cover up your expensive and pretty phone, try to make this case look better! Of the few devices that look OK (including the Outback above), the Civilian feels durable and protective, with buttons and raised edges around the screen. It is also available for S22 Ultra and S22 +.
Speck Presidio Perfect-Clear Case for $34: Just want an obvious no-frills case? This speck will do the trick. The buttons aren’t the strongest, but the case is hard and feels solid. Just know that there aren’t many safeguards for the lenses. You can also get it for S22 Ultra and S22 +.
