Next June Announces return to sport, dual sport, supermoto and off-road motorcycles in 2023Suzuki has announced new and updated models in its V-Strom adventure lineup: the 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 1050, the 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE and the 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE Adventure.
Suzuki’s 2022 lineup includes the standard V-Strom 1050 and the high-end V-Strom 1050XT and V-Strom 1050XT Adventure, with an Adventure version with aluminum trim, fog lights and heated grips.

In 2023, the V-Strom 1050 returns with many updates and the V-Strom 1050XT and V-Strom 1050XT Adventure will be replaced by the V-Strom 1050DE and V-Strom 1050DE Adventure.
Previously available only on XT models, all V-Strom 1050 models now feature a 6-Axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and a Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) suite of electronics, which includes modes ride, cornering ABS, multi-mode traction control, cruise control and compensating braking for hill descent, downhill and payload. Supporting these avionics is an updated throttle system, a new ABS controller, a new CAN (Network of Control Area) wiring, and a new 32-bit ECM (Engine Control Module).
Other changes common to all V-Strom 1050 models include an up/down quickshifter, a new 5-inch TFT display, a new windscreen that can be manually adjusted to 11 different positions across the range. micro 2-inch height, new 12-volt power outlet under the passenger seat, revised mirrors, revised LED turn signals and taillights.
The standard V-Strom 1050 has a new dual-high seat (33.7 / 34.5 inches), while the V-Strom 1050DE and V-Strom 1050DE Adventure models have a new fixed high seat (34.6 inches).
Inside the engine are new sodium-filled exhaust valves, which lower the temperature in the combustion chamber for improved flow efficiency and durability. The 6-speed gearbox has a higher gear ratio for 1st and 6th gears for smoother transitions to second and higher gears and contributes to smoother operation of the faster gear lever.
The V-Strom 1050 models use durable steel sprockets and feature a new stronger and longer O-ring drive chain. Underneath the car is a new gasket that protects the oil filter, exhaust and engine, as well as a stronger unit.
All V-Strom 1050 models are equipped with a 1,037cc, 90-degree, liquid-cooled V-Twin engine. When are we? tested Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT 2020, it makes 96 hp at 8,500 rpm and 66 lb-ft of torque at 6,300 rpm on the Jett Tuning rear-wheel dyno. The 1050XT has a fuel capacity of 5.3 gallons, and during our 2020 testing, we averaged 49.8 mpg and a range of 264 miles.
2023 Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE and V-Strom 1050DE Adventure
Joining the standard V-Strom 1050 are the new V-Strom 1050DE and V-Strom 1050DE Adventure, geared toward more off-road adventures. DE models feature 21-inch front wheels for rolling over obstacles with tubular rims for maximum durability. Tubeless 17-inch rear wheels and the DE model come with Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour adventure tires.
For improved handling and off-road handling, DE models feature unique features in the Suzuki Intelligent Driving System (SIRS), including the new Gravel (G) traction control and the ability to turn off ABS on the rear wheel. They also have their own dedicated chassis shape with a longer wheelbase (62.8 inches versus 61.2 on the standard V-Strom 1050), longer rake (27.3 degrees vs. 4 degrees), more trails (4.96 inches versus 4.33), more ground clearance (7.5 inches versus 6.5), and 1.6 inches wider handlebars.
To further enhance off-road capability, DE models feature a dedicated suspension system with unique spring rates, damping forces and piston settings. The 43mm adjustable upside-down fork and rear monoshock also have more suspension travel than the standard V-Strom 1050, with 6.7 inches of front travel (versus 6.3) and 6.6 inches of travel. later (compared to 6.3).
For increased stability, DE models also have a longer swingarm with 10% higher torsional stiffness. They also feature a new three-piece front fender assembly that combines the efficiency of a conventional fender with the protection of a fork guard like those used on motorcycles.
To maximize off-road visibility, the V-Strom 1050DE and V-Strom 1050DE Adventure feature a uniquely smaller windshield that is 3 inches shorter and slightly narrower than the V- Strom 1050. The wider handlebars on DE models are cast in a thicker tube from softer aluminum than the V-Strom 1050 handlebars, allowing for more flexibility and better shock absorption.
DE models feature a new, more durable fixed-height seat (34.6 inches) with a new bottom shape that increases stiffness while reducing weight by 1.5 lb (37% reduction in mass). According to Suzuki, the driver’s seat and driver’s seat provide a comfortable upright sitting position, and the sides of the seat are upholstered with a high-grip texture material to help the driver and passenger connect with the motorcycle.
With their higher stance, the V-Strom 1050DE and V-Strom 1050DE Adventure have side features and insights specific to each longer model. They also feature a new engine guard made of 3mm thick aluminum plate that protects the front and bottom of the frame, exhaust and engine from debris.
Unique to the V-Strom 1050DE Adventure is a set of 37 liter aluminum pans with anodized silver finish attached to stainless steel, powder-coated racks. Made from 1.5mm thick aluminum panels with sturdy, non-piercing rivet technology, panniers feature hinged lids that stay fixed when opened, interior and exterior fastening points, stainless steel latches with locks and sections Quick release hard. Built to be waterproof with rubber stoppers, the panniers have a powder coated interior to prevent aluminum stains from transferring to the cargo.
The Suzuki V-Strom 1050 2023 will come in metallic reflective blue / matte metallic black with black wheels, the Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE 2023 will come in pearl blue / pearl white with blue rims and the Suzuki V-2023 The Strom 1050DE Adventure will be available in Champion Gold #2 / Matte Sword Metallic Silver with a gold rim.
