2023 Porsche Macan T revealed with handling center, 4-cylinder engine


This is the year 2023 Porsche Macan T, and that’s the first four-door Porsche to wear the “T” badge. Yes, in the past, T models were reserved for 718 twins and 911. It stands for “Touring,” and it heralds an entry-level model with more nimble handling and sportier styling.

Since the T is considered an affordable performance model, it is based on the base model of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Capacity same as base Macan at 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, but the T adds no extra speed.

To help the Macan T handle better, Porsche has fitted Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard. When you opt for the adaptive air suspension on the PASM, it’s also equipped with model-specific anti-roll bars that are hardened to reduce body roll and increase handling sharpness. Porsche Traction Management has been specifically tuned T to increase power transmission to the rear axle. And if you want to go even further, you can opt for the modified Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus for the model T for even better handling.

Other notable standard equipment is the Sport Chrono Package which puts you in control of the Porsche’s launch in a time of 5.8 seconds from 0-60 mph. It also comes with the model’s exclusive 20-inch Macan S wheels in “black titanium” – the exclusivity is in the titanium paintwork (pictured above).

When it comes to visual upgrades, the Macan T uses contrasting trim painted in Agate Gray Metallic to set it apart. You’ll find this finishing touch on the front bumper trim, side mirrors, side spoilers, roof spoiler and rear logos. The Sport’s standard exhaust pipes are now painted in high-gloss black, and so are the window surrounds.

The interior has eight-way power adjustment and heated sports seats wrapped in Sport-Tex Stripe. The silver stitching is intended to mimic the gray exterior paint used on the seats, steering wheel and headrests, the last of which is embossed with the Porsche emblem. The steering wheel is heated GT Sport wheels, and the door sills are black aluminum with the “Macan T” logo embossed.

There’s no pricing for the new T at the moment, but Porsche says it’ll come in the spring when you can configure and order any of the 2023 Macan models. Expect it to be in place right below letter S In terms of pricing, there’s a base price of $66,750 for 2022.
