KTM has announced that joining the recently launched KTM 890 Adventure R 2023 lineup is the new KTM 890 Adventure, which the company calls “the ultimate master of all conditions and distances”.

The KTM 890 Adventure 2023 has a liquid-cooled LC8 889cc tandem engine, 6-speed gearbox, sliding clutch/PASC assist, Bosch EMS with wire throttle and Dell’Orto throttle body with integrated knock sensor Suitable for handling varying fuel quality while off the beaten path.

For 2023, one of the most significant changes was made to the fender between the front of the car and the fuel tank.
The connected apron offers improved protection from the elements, and it’s now further reinforced to provide greater security and greater load-carrying capacity for larger GPS devices. KTM 890 Adventure also has wider panels on the fuel tank and side panels.
As for the suspension, the reworked 43mm WP APEX fork now comes with rebound and compression adjustments, accessible from the top caps. APEX shock absorbers, designed and fitted to bicycles to minimize height, feature new settings oriented to adventurous riding needs.
A new ABS unit is announced by the six-axis IMU to activate full braking force in a wide range of situations. The innovative ABS system is synchronized with the riding modes, allowing Offroad ABS (maximizing brake control through force release on the rear wheel and reduced interference on the front wheel) to be activated automatically. in Offroad or Rally mode.
The KTM 890 Adventure can be clicked into Street, Offroad, Rain and optionally Rally modes to adjust traction and engine control characteristics, and the Demo setting gives riders a chance to try out a full range of rides. optional driver aids for the first 932 miles (1,500 km) before deciding whether to purchase and keep them permanently.
The KTM 890 Adventure 2023 features a new taller windscreen for added protection and is inspired by the product used on the KTM 450 Rally, while the two-part saddle features a new soft foam construction and slim front fender. more for aerodynamics and rain resistance.
The overhauled 5-inch TFT display features revised hardware (bonded mineral glass for more scratch resistance and glare), and KTM says a redesigned software system featuring menus and infographics helps changing the operation of KTM 890 Adventure becomes simpler. The backlight changes in intensity as it reacts to the environment, and a new feature for 2023 allows riders to list their ‘top 10 calls’ by last call or favorites list. Turn-by-Turn+ navigation allows riders to add additional customizations to their navigation details on the go from the bike’s TFT menu without having to stop and search for their mobile device.
Sportier graphics and more dynamic styling (plastic is sprayed and uses in-mold decals where possible to add drag, as seen on KTM off-road vehicles) come with other practical additions like new aluminum engine and fuel tank guard. Other additions include a steering wheel switch with hazard warning, Pirelli Scorpion STR tires to emphasize offroad capabilities, and LED indicators.
KTM Adventure 2023 has a 5.3 gal fuel tank and 441 lb dry weight.

2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R and 1290 Super Adventure WILL
The KTM 890 Adventure and 890 Adventure R 2023 machines join the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R and 1290 Super Adventure S 2023, both of which are completely redesigned for 2022.

Both models return for 2023 and are still powered by a liquid-cooled 1,301cc LC8 V-Twin engine with a 6-speed PANKL transmission, PASC-assist/anti-slip clutch and Keihin EMS with throttle by wire. Both have 7-inch TFT screens and Rain, Street, Sport and Offroad driving modes as standard, as well as an optional Rally mode with nine levels of adjustable traction control intervention. The offroad ABS mode allows the application of dirt-specific ABS on the front wheels while disabling the rear ABS.
Suspension on the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R 2023 is provided by a fully adjustable, long-travel WP XPLOR fork with separate compression and rebound damping and a fully adjustable WP XPLOR PDS rear shock. On the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S 2023, the WP APEX Semi-Active Technology (SAT) suspension adjusts damping rates in real time according to Sport, Street, Comfort or optional Offroad, Auto and Advanced , and WP APEX rear shock with 200mm travel and new hydraulic preload adjustment (20mm) offering 10 steps of adjustment or, as an optional extra, three levels of auto leveling Low, Standard and Cao.
The KTM LC8 and LC8c ADVENTURE series will begin shipping to KTM authorized dealers from December onwards. Prices have not been announced as of publication.
