2023 Aveta VADV150 Hybrid scooter launched in Malaysia, RM 13,980, dual camera, electric power assist
Currently Malaysia has the Aveta VADV150 Hybrid scooter 2023, priced at RM13,980 excluding road tax, insurance and registration. The VADV150 is supported with acceleration up to 50 km/h, which Aveta calls “Combined Assist” through the use of “Intelligent Engine Generator” that provides power back to the engine by means of an alternator.
The engine on the VADV150 is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC four-valve powered by EFI and has a displacement of 149 cc. Power for the VADV150 is rated at 16.22 hp with electric assistance and a maximum torque of 14.6 Nm.
Upcoming standard is Aveta’s SAF ABS that works on both 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels while tire sizes are listed as 110/80 front and 130/70 rear. Suspension is done with non-adjustable telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable twin shock absorber with a remote-controlled reservoir at the rear.
The VADV150 has some features not commonly found on motorcycles and scooters in the Malaysian market. One feature is the Digital Video Recording (DVR) system that equips the VADV150 with front and rear cameras.
Also standard is the Adaptive Front Light System (AFS) which automatically adjusts the headlamp beam depending on speed and steering angle, providing a clearer view of the road. Inside the cockpit, a 7-inch TFT LCD screen displays all the necessary information, while integrating a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as well as Bluetooth connectivity with the driver’s smartphone.
Other driving conveniences include keyless entry, engine start-stop, two-position manual windscreen and USB charging port. Under the saddle is a spacious storage space while the fuel tank capacity is 9.3 liters with dimensions of 2,072 x 720 x 1,260 mm, making VADV slightly better than competitors. Honda ADV150.
The saddle height on the VADV150 is 775 mm while the listed weight of 150 kg comes from the addition of the hybrid engine and makes this the heaviest scooter in the segment. Three color options are available – Topaz Yellow, Sapphire Blue and Ruby Red – with immediate availability at all Aveta Malaysia authorized dealers.
