2022 Ties in Players’ Championship, Pairs: Course completion, schedule for Round 4 at TPC Sawgrass
The final round of the 2022 Player Championship will take place on Monday afternoon, and the top of the leaderboard remains as wide open as it has been all week. There are currently 13 players in the 3-stroke compared to Anirban Lahiri’s 9-stroke lead and 24 players in the 5-stroke. In a volatile course like TPC Sawgrass, literally anything can (and probably will) happen in the next seven hours.
Lahiri is looking for the biggest win of his life and he will be playing against the unlikely trio in the final round of Doug Pins and Sebastian Munoz. That group combined to claim a PGA Tour win in their collective career, and it came from Munoz in the fall at the Sanderson Farms Invitational. Behind them with a little more firepower with Paul Casey, Sam Burns and Cameron Smith. I expect the eventual winner to come out of that pool, although given how tight everyone is right now, we could see someone knock down the number 64 early and watch everyone rush home. .
Despite that, the end of this strange seemingly two-week tournament is going to be awesome and someone’s career trajectory will be forever altered based on what unfolds late Monday afternoon at TPC Sawgrass.
