Despite placing high in Race 1 of the 2022 Asian Talent Cup (ATC) race at Sepang International Circuit this weekend, Malaysia’s Hakim Denmark redeemed himself with a victory in Race 2. In drizzly, wet conditions, Hakim battled Indonesia’s Veda Ega Pratama, the duo swapping the lead in the final leg of the race.
After 9 rounds, Hakim is currently at the top of the drivers’ rankings with 151 points, closely followed by Japan’s Shinya Ezawa with 148 points. Finals in Mandalika, Indonesia on 11-13 November.
Other Malaysians competing in the ATC are Farres Putra, Farish Hafiy and Emil Idzhar. ATC is an independent race using the Honda NSF250R and is open to young participants in the Asia and Oceania regions. It acts as a feeder series for the higher ranks in MotoGP.
