The designers gave us a lot to consider Fall 2022 collection and a glimpse of fashion’s lead this year. On one side of the spectrum, brands showcase light, beautiful things. Among them are sheer sheer gowns at Fendi, tangy silk lingerie layered beneath embellished cuts at Miu Miu, high glamor satin gowns at Saint Laurent, and lace-up gowns. On the other side, there was a furious current running through the collections. Leather becomes sharper and heavier in Diesel. Grungier vibes were at Khaite and Givenchy with a moody look focused on black layers. Even the bride’s look has a strong curvaceous twist, with delicate, flowing Off-White gowns and 3D feathers by Richard Quinn.
With so many contrasting ideas on the runway, it’s hard to end the season neatly, but one thing’s for sure: Creativity is pervasive and we’re entering an exciting time in fashion. .
